An aftermarket Smart Fortwo differential can substantially improve your vehicle's performance, ensuring that your drive wheels get the proper amount of traction at any given time. This is especially important if you depend on your vehicle to handle consistently through turns without excessive wheel slip, or in racing situations such as circuit, drag, or off-road racing. The bottom line is, your Smart Fortwo vehicle isn't truly high-performance unless it's rockin' a limited-slip differential.

Most, if not all, exotic sports cars and heavy-duty trucks employ some sort of limited-slip differential to improve traction during less-than-ideal conditions, but the same technology is also available to those of us with Smart Fortwo vehicles that weren't equipped with a limited-slip differential (also known as an LSD) from the factory.
