JLT's first intake kit with the MAF housing incorporated into the tube. This makes for a smooth interior and a smooth look to the tube itself. JLT even took the interior sound tube into consideration. Some want it and some don't, so they moved it to the inside and center of the tube. A Cap is included so you can remove the tube and cap the fitting in the JLT tube. Because they lowered the fitting, when it's capped it's less noticeable at most angles looking into the engine compartment.
With a huge 4.5" opening on the tube they needed a huge filter. So JLT got with S&B and gave them some measurements. We love the tapered flange design and Powerstack filtered ends of their filters and ended up with a monster 4.5x9" filter. Finish it off with a silicone coupler and stainless clamps and you got the BEST Intake on the market!!! NO METAL TUBING HERE!!
2013 BOSS 302 owners & 2011-13 GT owners using the BOSS intake manifold: This kit fits as is, but they can include a 3" vs. 2" coupler that will improve fit with BOSS manifold. Please select YES in drop down box below if this applies to you and they will swap the 2" coupler for the longer 3" coupler at no extra charge.
• Automatic Owners: Automatic cars need an additional fitting, which they provide if you select automatic when ordering (see below). The fittings are Milled from solid billet aluminum and all you need to do is drill a ½" hole (they show you where) in the tube, install the supplied grommet, fitting and you're done. Note, all kits sold to resellers will include the automatic fitting.
• Molded In MAF: It's a full 107mm ID at the MAF area.
• Heat Shield: The heat shield ABS plastic to block engine heat at idle and low speed. It incorporates the fresh air inlet from the grill. It uses a large area to make sure the filter has tons of cool air.
• Gains and Testing: Up to 30+ RWHP has been seen when used with JLT's custom tune! JLT's testing as well as many others have showed gains of 24-30 RWHP with their CAI and custom tune. If you see more "claimed" by others, ask them how. Also look over the dyno sheets real good for low number baseline runs or no dyno sheets at all. Many will base line the car with 87 fuel, then add 93 fuel, the CAI and tune and show more power. JLT doesnt do that! They test a car with 93 fuel from the start.
• Tuning: A JLT specific tune is required with this kit.
• Finish Options: Standard finish is an OEM looking black textured plastic and also available in your cars exact body color. All painted tubes go through an in-depth process to remove all the texture, then they use only the best quality materials to give each tube a smooth gloss finish.
• Includes: JLT Textured Plastic or painted intake tube, Silicone Coupler, 4.5x9 S&B powerstack air filter, ABS Heat Shield, HD Clamps and all needed hardware.
