Third brake lights are relatively new in the automotive world. For many years vehicles came standard with only two dim taillights, but in the 1970s a psychologist developed the idea of a high-mounted center brake light that would be better at getting the driver's attention. Now third brake lights are a legal requirement on all new vehicles. In addition to their functionality, it is possible to use Datsun 280ZX third brake lights in custom applications. By mounting the lights in unique locations you can give your vehicle a custom look to help set it apart from the crowd.
