Q: What is a fan shroud? Why buy one?
A: Fan shrouds are panels that surround your engine cooling fan in order to maximize cooling efficiency and to keep your engine running at the optimum temperature. Fan shrouds work by blocking off open passages through the radiator and directing all the air towards the pathway of the fan. This dramatically boosts fan power providing greater airflow through the radiator which in turn increases cooling capabilities. Shrouds are available for both mechanical and electric fans, and there are also shrouds available to allow for the addition of a dual fan setup when you are in need of some extra cooling.
