Keeping your engine clean can dramatically improve its life span. One of the main ways to do this is by routinely changing your Mercury Comet oil filter. When oil runs through your motor it picks up harmful dirt and particulates. As the oil passes through your Mercury Comet oil filter, these particulates are filtered out so they can no longer harm your motor. But if you do not change your filter it will eventually clog leading to dirty oil, or worse yet, low oil pressure. Here at Andy's Auto Sport we have a vast selection of oil filters from all of the leading brand names to ensure that you find the perfect filter for your application. Keep your car running strong with a new Mercury Comet oil filter from our extensive lineup.

In the early days of motoring oil filters were unnecessary because vehicles burned oil so quickly that it was being replenished with fresh oil on a regular basis. But as engine technology improved the idea of a replaceable filter was quickly incorporated into motor design. Today spin-on filters are standard fare, however not all oil filters are created equal. Different filtering materials allow for improved oil flow in high-performance applications, and some filters include anti-back flow valves to ensure that your motor develops oil pressure quickly during startup. Do a little homework and pick out the perfect Mercury Comet oil filter for you application.

Q: What is an oil filter? Why buy an oil filter?
A: It is a can-like device that screws onto the outside of the crankcase and is used to strain the oil that runs through your engine, thereby removing abrasive particles.
