Ever since fuel injection became the norm several years ago, Ford LTD carburetors have become a sort of mystery to many performance enthusiasts. Yes, fuel injection is awesome, but there's something to be said for keeping a classic vehicle true to its roots and embracing the world of float bowls, jets, and vacuum secondaries. Most performance Ford LTD carburetor manufacturers offer both "street" and "race" carburetors, although most street versions can certainly handle the occasional quarter-mile pass.

In addition carburetors are easily tunable by even an average mechanic so that they can be set up for virtually any driving situation from drag racing to road racing.
