Description:
Turbosmart's WG45 Gen V Hyper-Gate 45 Motorsport is a 14psi external wastegate built around a CFD-designed heatsink that sits between the wastegate body and actuator. It extends on the standard Gen V ceramic isolator by adding physical distance and convection shielding to keep heat away from the actuator, which also aids valve and guide cooling for longer service life. Best suited to endurance motorsport and other high-heat, high-demand applications.

Q: What is a wastegate? Why buy a wastegate?
A: A wastegate regulates boost by allowing excess exhaust pressure to bleed off. Wastegates generally come in two different types. The first is an internal wastegate, which is controlled by a wastegate actuator and bleeds directly into the exhaust system. An external wastegate is controlled by a boost controller and can be directed to bleed either into the exhaust system or directly into the atmosphere. It's mounted wherever there's space for it. External wastegates can handle more boost, but can be too big to fit in the space next to the turbo.
Q: How do you install a wastegate?
A: Wategates are mounted onto the turbo manifold by using a flange. Basic bolting of it is needed for installation.
