Torque Solution's short shifter is designed to fit 2004-2014 Mini Cooper and Mini Cooper S models (R50, R53, and R56 chassis) for a quicker, more direct shift feel.
Q: How do you install a short shifter?
A: Short shifters are installed by removing your factory shift lever from your transmission. Your center console will have to be removed along with your shift boot and shift knob in order to access the lower part of your shifter mechanism. Once removed, the short shifter should be directly bolted in and everything should be re-assembled. Instructions are included and installation takes around 30 minutes with ordinary hand tools.

A: The dual bend shifter sits closer to the driver and is the option we see most people going with when it's available for their vehicles.
