PERRIN Performance STI Short Shifter Adapter is a new and unique way of shortening your shifters throws with out just cutting down the length of the shift rod. Just like all our short shifters since the inception of the company, this one is also adjustable in the amount of throw. Adjustable from 10%-50% reduction in throw with the use of single tool! (Crazy people can go beyond 50% with some modifications).
Installation of our shifter is the quickest around! No messing with the reverse lockout cable, or disassembling a bunch of parts, or jacking up the car. This saves you time and money when it comes time for installation.
We CNC machine the STI Short Shifter From 303 Stainless Steel. We do this because Stainless Steel provides a clean look and a lifetime of corrosion free performance. Others use steel with a coating or plating that doesn’t hold up to corrosion over the years. You will never see rust on your PERRIN Shifter Adapter!
Included with every PERRIN Short Throw Shifter Adapter are our Shifter Bushings. The Polyurethane Shifter Bushings replace the soft rubber bushings that keep the short shifter connected to the transmission and chassis. These soft bushings are the cause of the “spongy-ness” feel in your stock shifter. Our upgraded stiffer polyurethane bushings eliminate this “squishy-ness” and make your shifts even more positive. Q: What's the difference between a single bend shifter and a dual bend shifter?
A: The dual bend shifter sits closer to the driver and is the option we see most people going with when it's available for their vehicles.
Q: What is a short shifter? Why buy a short shifter?
A: A short shifter dramatically improves your shifting performance due in large part to reduced shifter travel, or "short throw". If you're in a performance situation, the additional seconds it takes for a factory stock shifter to go from one gear to another can result in a slower time. If you want speed, reduce the throw and increase your acceleration by getting a short shifter.
Q: How do you install a short shifter?
A: Short shifters are installed by removing your factory shift lever from your transmission. Your center console will have to be removed along with your shift boot and shift knob in order to access the lower part of your shifter mechanism. Once removed, the short shifter should be directly bolted in and everything should be re-assembled. Instructions are included and installation takes around 30 minutes with ordinary hand tools.

A: Short shifters are vehicle specific and are not universal. They are not available for any automatic transmission vehicles.
