Mishimoto's top-mount intercooler kit for the 2008-2014 Subaru WRX uses cast aluminum end tanks TIG-welded to a dense bar-and-plate core measuring 3.75 inches thick with a total volume of 584 in3. It supports builds from stock up to 400 whp and showed a 12 F temperature drop plus gains of 6 whp and 8 wtq on a stock test vehicle. This powder-coated black kit includes silicone hoses, a turbo-intercooler O-ring gasket, and a throttle-body coupler for a no-modification install in under 30 minutes, and it is backed by Mishimoto's Lifetime Warranty.

A: Intercoolers are sold either individually as universal cores or as kits with piping and couplers included. Turbocharged and supercharged engines can utilize intercoolers effectively while naturally aspirated vehicles do not have use for them.

A: Intercoolers are installed using piping kits. If there is a kit available for your car, intercoolers are placed in their desired location and piping routed to both the throttle body and the turbocharger side. Sometimes piping kits are not available and custom piping will need to be made.
