Mishimoto's 2.3L EcoBoost Performance Intercooler for the 2019-2023 Ford Ranger uses a bar-and-plate core TIG-welded to cast-aluminum end tanks, replacing the stock tube-and-fin core and plastic tanks. It offers 46% more core volume and 24% less restriction, with dyno-proven gains of 13.6 whp and 13.9 lb-ft of torque when paired with Mishimoto intercooler pipes. A boost sensor or water-meth injection bung is included, and the unit does not interfere with active grille shutters or adaptive cruise control. Backed by Mishimoto's Lifetime Warranty.

Q: How do you install an intercooler?
A: Intercoolers are installed using piping kits. If there is a kit available for your car, intercoolers are placed in their desired location and piping routed to both the throttle body and the turbocharger side. Sometimes piping kits are not available and custom piping will need to be made.

A: Both superchargers and turbochargers heat air as they compress it. This heat can hurt the combustion process by changing the density of air entering the intake manifold from a cool charge to a hot one. An intercooler is used to lower the temperature of the air and in turn increase the density of that air, so more air can enter the cylinders and create more power.
