Mishimoto's bar-and-plate intercooler kit for the 2013-2019 Cadillac ATS 2.0T increases core volume by 45 percent and external fin surface area by 239 percent over stock. Mandrel-bent piping ranging 2.25-2.75 inches in diameter adds 30 percent more volume and 10 percent better flow, with claimed gains of 11 hp and 9 ft-lbs. Cold-side piping includes a pre-welded NPT port for a boost gauge or meth injection. Covered under Mishimoto's Lifetime Warranty. This listing is for the wrinkle black piping finish.

Q: How do you install an intercooler?
A: Intercoolers are installed using piping kits. If there is a kit available for your car, intercoolers are placed in their desired location and piping routed to both the throttle body and the turbocharger side. Sometimes piping kits are not available and custom piping will need to be made.

A: Both superchargers and turbochargers heat air as they compress it. This heat can hurt the combustion process by changing the density of air entering the intake manifold from a cool charge to a hot one. An intercooler is used to lower the temperature of the air and in turn increase the density of that air, so more air can enter the cylinders and create more power.
