Q: What is a brake master cylinder? Why buy one?
A: Brake master cylinders are the components that take the mechanical force of your foot stepping on the brake pedal and convert it into hydraulic pressure which physically operates your brakes and causes your car to stop. Over time dirty brake fluid can cause the seals inside of your master cylinder to wear out. This can have varying results from a slow leak in the system to a complete loss of brake pressure.
