Description:
With a notch kit, you install the notches on the frame rail directly above your axle. Then you cut the frame rail which will give you the clearance you need for your axle to be able to travel upwards. This eliminates bottoming out on your frame rail because the axle can now travel all the way to the bottom of the notch.
