Kraftwerks is a new company that has been focusing on the development of Rotrex superchargers, which replace the drive gears found in a traditional centrifugal supercharger layout with what is called a "friction drive system". This reduces heat and results in quieter operation. The Rotrex compressor is capable of revving extremely high and producing a linear powerband with instantaneous response. For those interested in proven technology with lots of potential, the Rotrex supercharger from Kraftwerks looks very promising!

Q: Is it absolutely necessary to remove the air conditioning system in order to install this supercharger kit, or can I relocate the A/C compressor?
A: Yes. The supercharger itself mounts in the space where the A/C compressor is located from the factory, using brackets made specifically to install the supercharger in that location due to the cramped engine compartment. It may be possible to relocate the compressor, but it would require fabricating your own brackets and tensioner pulley setup, finding a suitable belt, and possibly having new A/C lines made.
Q: Are Kraftwerks supercharger kits C.A.R.B. (California Air Resources Board) legal?
A: No, Kraftwerks supercharger kits are not C.A.R.B. approved and are not to be used on public roads where prohibited by law.
