• New Tube Design: When JLT developed their 2011 Mustang GT 5.0 intake they did something completely different and incorporated the MAF housing into the tube. This made for a much smoother interior without any transitions, steps or couplers to upset the air flow. Another benefit is the over all look is just plain awesome! Since the 2011 GT kit was such a success, they decided to look back and redesign JLT's GT500 kit. The result is this BIG AIR kit with a full 123mm ID at the MAF area. It also has a new larger heat shield with two mounting points and a weather strip that seals to the hood. With a huge 5" opening on the tube they needed a huge filter so JLT got with S&B and gave them some measurements. We love the tapered flange design and Powerstack filtered ends of their filters and ended up with a monster 5x9" filter, that's a full 8.25" across at the base and 5.5" at the top. Finish it off with a silicone coupler and stainless clamps. NO METAL TUBING HERE!!
• Molded In MAF: The best part of this new JLT Big Air is they kicked the cool factor up a notch and molded a 123mm MAF housing right in the tube. This not only look great, but the smooth inside makes air flow nice and smooth. Early testing shows this can be used with the stock MAF sensor all the way up to 750 RWHP and well beyond with a MAFia, SCT BA5000 or HPX sensor.
• Heat Shield: ABS plastic heat shield to block engine heat at idle and low speed. It uses a large area to make sure the filter has tons of cool air.
• Gains: 60-90 RWHP is typical with this kit and JLT's custom tune. This puts most GT500's at 495-515 HP at the rear tires. (500 HP is rated at the flywheel from the factory)
• Tuning: JLT has included 2 tunes, 1 for the Intake only and 1 for the Intake and pulley. So if you ever upgrade to a smaller supercharger pulley in the future you already have the needed tune. They support your car with any needed tune adjustments for 1 year covering things such as headers and off road exhaust.
• Finish Options: Standard finish is an OEM looking black textured plastic and available in your cars exact body color. All painted tubes go through an in-depth process to remove all the texture, then they use only the best quality materials to give each tube a smooth gloss finish.
• Includes: Free t-shirt, SCT X-3 tuner loaded with JLT custom tunes, JLT Textured black or painted intake tube, Silicone Coupler, 5x9 S&B powerstack air filter, ABS Heat Shield, HD Clamps and all needed hardware.
