These valve spring retainers are made from 4140L steel and have an 1.375 outer diameter with an 1.070 spring diameter. Retainers are tapered 7 Deg for 11/32 inches locks and are finished with a black oxide coating. Kit comes in a set of 16.

A: Valve springs are used in conjunction with retainers in order to take the impact of running high RPMs. When purchasing camshafts or looking to increase the revs of your motor, a set of valve springs and retainers should be purchased.
