Description:
Edelbrock's fuel pressure regulator kit (#8193) adjusts fuel pressure from 4.5 to 9 psi and is designed to match Edelbrock racing fuel pumps. Each kit includes fittings, a 4500 series mounting plate, fuel line, and regulator. Fuel line from pump to regulator is not included; use #8122 or #8127 for pumps with 1/2 inches NPT outlets.

Q: What is a fuel pressure regulator? Why buy a fuel pressure regulator?
A: The fuel pressure regulator regulates the fuel pressure that goes into the engine. The car's computer does not control the fuel pressure regulator; it is controlled by the engines vacuum. Depending whether the idle is high or low the fuel pressure regulator opens and closes giving more or less fuel. With a high performance motor, an adjustable fuel pressure regulator is needed to increase the amount of fuel given to the engine since larger injectors and fuel pump will be utilized.

A: You disconnect a vacuum hose and one fuel line on your fuel pressure regulator and replace it with the new adjustable unit within minutes.
