Edelbrock's RPM Air-Gap Vortec intake manifold (part #7516) is a single four-barrel unit designed for 262-400 c.i.d. Chevy V8s running 1996-and-later Vortec L31 cast iron or Edelbrock E-Tec aluminum heads. The air-gap design separates the runners from engine heat with an open air space, delivering a cooler, denser charge. Accepts square-bore carbs and 1976-and-later alternator and A/C brackets; no exhaust crossover and will not fit under a stock Corvette hood.

Q: How do you install an intake manifold?
A: It depends on whether your car is carbureted or fuel injected, but either way, the good news is that it's located on the top end of the engine and therefore is easily accessible and won't require you to mess with any internals to change it out.

A: Air is routed through the air filter, through the throttle body or carburetor, and into the intake manifold. Once the air is inside the intake manifold it's distributed to each of the cylinders in equal parts.
