The Edelbrock 3847 is an ultra-low-profile throttle body elbow that adapts LS1 80mm, LS2 90mm 4-bolt, or Ford 75mm throttle bodies to standard 4150-style square-bore manifolds. The throttle bore center sits 9.00 inches forward and only 0.56 inches above the manifold flange, with the flange angled down 12 degrees and an internal divider to optimize flow distribution. It mounts forward, backward, or sideways, though the low profile prevents forward-mount use on Chevy manifolds where the water neck is in the way.

A: Air travels through your intake piping through your throttle body and into the intake manifold. The throttle body, which includes a throttle plate that opens and closes as you press and release the throttle, can be a major bottleneck to air flow on some trucks. A larger throttle body allows more air to pass through, thus creating more power.
