Edelbrock's part #2116 Performer Vortec intake manifold is a dual-plane, low-rise design built for 262-400 c.i.d. Chevy V8s running 1996-and-later Vortec L31 cast iron or Edelbrock E-Tec aluminum heads. The 180-degree firing order split improves torque across a wide rpm band for strong throttle response from off-idle through 5500 rpm. It includes provisions for an external water bypass and fits both Vortec and pre-1996 blocks, but has no provision for exhaust-heated chokes.

A: It depends on whether your car is carbureted or fuel injected, but either way, the good news is that it's located on the top end of the engine and therefore is easily accessible and won't require you to mess with any internals to change it out.

Once the air is inside the intake manifold it's distributed to each of the cylinders in equal parts.
