Dinan's billet short-shifter kits reduce shift throw for a sportier feel while remaining application-specific to each BMW gearbox, so gear selection stays smooth and effortless. Q: How do you install a short shifter?
A: Short shifters are installed by removing your factory shift lever from your transmission. Your center console will have to be removed along with your shift boot and shift knob in order to access the lower part of your shifter mechanism. Once removed, the short shifter should be directly bolted in and everything should be re-assembled. Instructions are included and installation takes around 30 minutes with ordinary hand tools.
