COMP Cams steel retainers for the Ford 3.8L-4.2 are CNC-machined from SAE 4140 chromemoly steel and designed to handle the higher pressures developed by larger-diameter valve springs. Contoured top profiling reduces stress and mass while increasing lift capacity.
