Cometic's MLS head gasket for the Ford Duratec 2.3L uses multiple embossed stainless steel layers with Viton rubber-coated outer layers, rated heat-resistant to 482 F. Compressed operating thickness is 0.030 in. at an 89.5mm bore. No sealants required; compatible with aluminum-to-aluminum and aluminum-to-cast-iron block combinations.
