Cometic's MLS head gasket for the 96-99 BMW M3 and 98-00 Z3 uses three to five layers of stainless steel for strength, rebound, and corrosion resistance. Outer layers are embossed and coated with Viton rubber, which is heat resistant to 250 degrees C (482 degrees F).
