Introducing the COBB Front Mount Intercooler upgrade for the 2022+ Ford Bronco Raptor and 2024+ Ranger Raptor! A direct replacement of the factory intercooler, the COBB intercooler offers significantly improved cooling efficiency leading to higher, more consistent power. The all-new billet aluminum, TIG welded assembly has a core with 53% greater volume than the stock unit. All while mating snugly to the OEM shutter shroud requiring absolutely no cutting, trimming, or permanent modification to the vehicle. This FMIC was designed in house with attention to detail lacking on other aftermarket offerings. Computational fluid dynamic analysis was used to create the smoothest end tank design which increases flow evenly and resulted in no areas of significant turbulence. The outlet port of the intercooler was also designed with a large chamfer to provide a smooth transition out of the intercooler into the throttle body tube to further reduce turbulence in the system.

Q: Do intercoolers work for any vehicle? Is there any pre-condition needed for me to buy an intercooler?
A: Intercoolers are sold either individually as universal cores or as kits with piping and couplers included. Turbocharged and supercharged engines can utilize intercoolers effectively while naturally aspirated vehicles do not have use for them.

Q: What is an intercooler? Why buy an intercooler?
A: Both superchargers and turbochargers heat air as they compress it. This heat can hurt the combustion process by changing the density of air entering the intake manifold from a cool charge to a hot one. An intercooler is used to lower the temperature of the air and in turn increase the density of that air, so more air can enter the cylinders and create more power.

Q: How do you install an intercooler?
A: Intercoolers are installed using piping kits. If there is a kit available for your car, intercoolers are placed in their desired location and piping routed to both the throttle body and the turbocharger side. Sometimes piping kits are not available and custom piping will need to be made.
