Description:
COBB Tuning - Nissan Big SF Intake System GT-R

This part is legal for sale and use on Emissions Controlled Vehicles in all 50 states when used in accordance with the manufacturer's application guide because it has a California Air Resources Board (CARB) Executive Order (EO) number: D-660-63

Works From Stock to Big Power Builds In stock form, the R35 ECU measures airflow using a Mass Airflow (MAF) sensor located in the stock intake system. As modifications add up and increase power, the airflow can increase to the point that it exceeds the MAF sensor's maximum capacity, preventing the ECU from accurately measuring air mass, and thus unable to deliver the appropriate amount of fuel. The Big SF Intake increases the inner diameter of the intake tubing, increasing the cross section of the intake and allowing the MAF sensor to read lower for the same amount of ingested air. This gives the sensor the necessary headroom to read accurately for airflow higher than the stock system was designed for. COBB Tuning has used the Big SF Intake to support builds of over 600HP and 600TQ at the wheels, gains of 40% over a stock GT-R!
FAQs
Q: What do air intakes do? Why buy an air intake?
A: Air intakes bring more air into the engine, which creates more power during combustion. Air intakes will generally help with throttle response and higher power gains, adding a pleasing induction sound to your engine under acceleration. An air intake also significantly cleans up your under-hood appearance and makes it easier to see and access components of your engine bay.

Q: Do you have to buy an air filter if you're buying an air intake?
A: Aair intakes are usually sold with all the components needed including the filter and all adapters.

Q: How do you install an air intake?
A: Air intakes are a true bolt-on application. The removal of your factory air box and resonator will be needed and the air intake installed in its place. Basic hand tools are needed, and the intake installs in minutes. If you don't regularly work on your truck yourself, installing an air intake might be a great way to get started and get familiarized because it's perhaps the most simple bolt-on performance upgrade you can do. Alternatively, you can take it to a shop to have it installed and expect the labor cost to be low since it would be an hour or less of labor most likely.
