Clutch Masters CM Steel Flywheels are precision CNC machined in the USA from 1045 steel billet, zero balanced, and black oxide coated for rust prevention. They carry SFI 1.2 certification and are designed to pair with Clutch Masters FX100-FX500 single disc or twin disc clutch kits.
Clutch Masters aluminum flywheels offer a substantial reduction in rotating weight, resulting in a quicker-reving motor with great response.
Typical benefits of a lightweight flywheel for various engine types:
* Reduced mass equals increased acceleration.
* A lightweight flywheel works particularly well with turbo-charged engines because it reduces typical turbo lag.
* Increased supercharger efficiency due to less parasitic drag on the crank.
* Improved mid-range torque in a normally aspirated engine due to not having to overcome the heavy weight of a stock flywheel.
* CM uses only 6061-T6 aircraft grade or better billet aluminum in the manufacturer of its flywheels.

Q: How do you install a flywheel?
A: We recommend professional installation since dropping the transmission or whole motor is usually needed. Once the transmission is off of the block, you can go ahead and remove your clutch setup and flywheel. Replace the factory flywheel with your aftermarket one, and re-install the clutch. (Buying a new clutch is a good idea at this point since it needs to be taken off anyway.)
