Q: What are differential bushings? Why buy them?
A: Your differential is what takes the engine power and delivers it to the wheels to propel your vehicle forward. It is held in place by bushings whose job it is to firmly keep things located while allowing for some compliance from bumps and road abnormalities. OEM differential bushings are usually made of soft rubber that deflects a lot and degrades and wears out over time. Aftermarket performance differential bushings are made of superior materials that last significantly longer than rubber, are resistant to heat and chemicals, and do a better job of firmly holding the differential in place. This means superior handling, improved traction, and reduced maintenance costs. These improved bushings will also help to reduce the wear and tear on expensive components such as your driveshaft and transmission. As a fairly low cost item, these bushings are a great investment.
