Description:
* Components listed to achieve desired lowering sold separately. Note "spindles" = these shocks are designed for OEM replacement, 1" spring or spindle only lowerings. Note "springs" = for any 2-3" spring or 2-5" spring/spindle lowering we recommend shorter shocks.
When you think about lowering your Sport Truck or SUV, historically the most overlooked component is the shock absorbers, with many Sport Truck or SUV owners simply leaving the factory units installed as a “good enough” after thought.
However, when you lower your Sport Truck or SUV, many of the components that you will use reduce the effective travel of the shock absorbers and can render your OEM shock absorbers virtually useless.
This results in not only poor ride quality & reduced driving enjoyment, but a large safety concern. The first time you need to perform an emergency maneuver like swerving to avoid a child, animal or another vehicle on the road, you will quickly find out exactly what we mean.
Excessive body roll and an incredible amount of front lean on braking, and rear dip on acceleration are all effects of a shock absorber (or more appropriately named damper) that is not working correctly as it is out of its element or operating range. You have effectively tied the dampers hands behind its back, not enabling it to do its job and control or dampen the movements of the suspension.
Belltech’s parent company KW automotive is a world leader in shock absorber technology and is relied upon for their expertise in suspension tuning by some of the world’s most demanding OEM and Aftermarket companies such as the ACR Viper team at Chrysler, Mercedes AMG, Novitec Ferrari, and Hennessey Motorsports.
KW automotive engineers in conjunction with Belltech Engineers have spent countless hours designing and tuning a complete new line of shock absorbers exclusively engineered for Belltech Sport Truck, SUV & Muscle Car applications.
Our engineers focused their attention on tuning the low speed compression characteristics of this shock absorber, which is responsible for controlling your Sport Truck or SUV’s pitch and roll, dive and squat to help keep you confident and in control. The “Progressive” rebound tuning will complement large aftermarket wheels, keeping the ride smooth but firm and in control.
-The ultimate in Premium Street Performance solution
-Vehicle specific applications
-Oversized Construction provides additional damping control
-15mm piston rod, 35 mm piston and a 55 mm shock body
-Internal Teflon coated bushings and piston seals avoid metal to metal contact, provides lowest possible friction resulting in long lasting performance
-Increase in handling and performance at maximum comfort

Q: What are struts and shocks? Why buy them?
A: Shock absorbers (shocks) are a device that controls spring motion through dampening. A shock absorber slows down and reduces the vibrations created by imperfections in the roadway. A strut is a shock absorber mounted inside a coil spring that does the same job of dampening. Whether your car uses a strut or shock depends on the factory setup, but both do the same thing and are synonymous in terms of their function. The product listings on our website indicate exactly what is available for your car. Aftermarket struts or shocks are an especially good purchase when lowering your car because they are specially made for optimal performance based on ride height, and can handle the extra stress your suspension will throw at them. Your factory struts or shocks will be out of their "comfort zone" if you lower your car, which causes them to wear down faster and ultimately fail. You can definitely lower your car without replacing the struts/shocks, but they will wear down quickly, and you ride quality will suffer.
Q: Do shocks come in sets of 4?
A: Struts and shocks are sold individually on our website, but purchasing should always be done in pairs at the minimum (one pair for the front, one for the rear). Most people replace all four shocks/struts at once.
Q: How do you install shocks/struts?
A: Shocks are easier to install because there are only two bolts holding in each shock absorber. Struts are a bit more difficult because there is a compressed spring that needs to be removed first. Once the spring has been removed the new strut can be installed with the OEM or aftermarket spring re-installed.
Q: Is there any difference between struts and shocks?
A: Struts/shocks both have the same job by dampening the kinetic energy of suspension travel. Struts perform two jobs: They provide a dampening function like shock absorbers, and they provide structural support for the vehicles suspension. That means that the struts deliver a bit more than shock absorbers, which don't support vehicle weight but control the speed at which weight is transferred in a vehicle. Either way, your options are limited to what is available for your car.
