APR's rebuilt high pressure fuel pump for the EA839 2.9T/3.0T is machined to dimensional tolerances as tight as .00004 inches and geometric tolerances as tight as .00005 inches. The plunger and barrel use heat-treated bearing-grade stainless steel, and the plunger receives a diamond-like coating for surface hardness. A properly specified spring prevents float, and all internal seals are replaced.
