APR's Turbo Inlet System for the Golf R EA888.4 replaces the factory inlet path from the airbox to the turbocharger with a wire-reinforced, fluorosilicone-lined hose that starts at 80mm and expands to 88mm. APR measured over 30% flow improvement at each inlet depression point on the Golf R. It is compatible with the factory airbox or any APR intake system.

A short ram intake is located inside the engine bay and creates power with better response times than a cold air, however the air is not as dense, which means that it doesn't make as much power in the upper RPM region and makes less power overall.
