Description:
AEM EV's Combined Charging Unit integrates an On-Board Charger and DC-DC Converter into a single unit. The OBC accepts 120V or 240V AC grid power and converts it to high-voltage DC to charge the HV battery pack, while the DC-DC converter steps that high voltage down to maintain the 12V auxiliary battery - replacing the role of an alternator in an ICE vehicle. Both functions report voltage, current, and status back to the VCU over CAN bus.
