Safety devices and built-in products become the trend for modern traffic safety

Accidents: they are big killers across the world. In cities like Manila, Motorcycle deaths are already one of the highest causes of deaths in the country, exceeding other natural causes of death. In the US, more kids die of car related accidents than other kinds of situations. As such, there is a serious need to create safety tools for cars. While drivers themselves need to be alert and become defensive drivers, it is very important also to create tools and systems that could help them resolve some problems and risks regarding driving, especially for kids who are subject to distracted driving, the main cause of young deaths to these drivers.

Different car companies have already taken some steps in addressing these problems. One company, Ford Motors is now implementing MyKey which is a computer coded key for the car where the parents can actually control the speed of the driving of the teenager up to 130 Km per hour. If the driver is already reaching specific distances, a warning is released using a chime sound giving the young driver some awareness that he or she needs to take it slowly and not subject him or herself and possibly, other passengers into trouble or in peril. This can also be used to control the loudness of the sounds of your car so that the kids can actually hear the warning sounds especially if there horn sounds from outside. The car also has warning sounds if the seat belts were not used while driving.

A Ford car can be quite pricey and such additional systems could be costly and that is why there are other products that you can install in the car in order to offer security and monitor the drivers. There are dedicated in-car computers nowadays that can be mounted by the windshield and such a device can be used by parents in order to monitor the driving of their kids. This is a unique device that uses GPS and it uses voice warnings to tell the kids if they are going beyond the speed limit and if they are not wearing safety belts. This can also be used to remind the kids of their behaviors. If the kid does not use the seat belt or slow down, a message will be sent to the phone or email of the parents to notify them about the risky behavior of the child.

While it is true that rules have already been implemented to more than 30 states in the US against the use of phones while driving especially for young drivers, it is very important to make sure that the drivers are well equipped with the tools to help them become more responsible drivers. A parent can only do so much for the safety of the child. It is very important for car makers to be aware of such risks and take advantage of what technology could actually do to help them become more disciplined and observant drivers even when they grow up.
