2011 Honda CR-Z Hybrid

Insight to Honda Enthusiast's Debate on the New 2011 Honda CR-Z Hybrid

Honda plans to release the new 2011 Honda CR-Z Hybrid in the late months of 2010, however, many Honda enthusiasts are debating whether this new hybrid car is even worth perusing for Honda.

When Honda first started to develop the Honda CR-Z Hybrid, they wanted to create a sporty hybrid car, in order to provide a performance hybrid car to revolutionize the automotive tuning industry. The CR-Z Hybrid is supposed feature a four-cylinder, 1.8 liter engine with 130 horsepower. There will also be an electric motor to help produce more torque to the front wheels, thus making it a hybrid car, giving it 20 more horsepower and having better gas mileage.

The entire concept of the Honda CR-Z Hybrid has become a very debatable topic amongst Honda enthusiasts. Some people say the car will be the new Honda CR-X and it will most likely be a very successful car; while others are saying the car will not get any more recognition than the Honda Insight did, the model the CR-Z is based off of, and it will not be successful in attracting performance car enthusiast, since the weight to power ratio is very low.

Honda already has many of the optimistic Honda enthusiasts looking forward to the release of this little sports car, but they are now trying to figure out how to respond to the other people doubting the success of the upcoming Honda CR-Z Hybrid. In response to all the criticism, Honda is now contemplating whether they should build a Honda CR-Z Hybrid Type-R, which will feature a larger electric motor, giving 50 more horsepower and producing a total of 200 horsepower.

After Honda enthusiast heard how they will create a "Type-R" model, which will only feature a larger electric motor, many people are beginning to wonder why they would place the "Type-R" title onto CR-Z Hybrid, since "Type-R" usually signified a lighter, more powerful car, not just the same car with more power. Many people feel Honda is ignoring how car tuners like smaller, light-weight, powerful cars and not big, bulky, powerful cars.

One suggestion made by car enthusiasts is to replace the 1.8 liter engine with a 2.0 liter engine, thus giving the Honda CR-Z Hybrid a much more powerful engine, with less weight, since the electric motors tend to add on significant amount of weight to any hybrid car. Another suggestion was to completely get rid of the hybrid concept in the Honda CR-Z and make the CR-Z with a regular gasoline engine. This would ultimately make the car more similar to the old Honda CR-X and attract many more car enthusiasts, as those are the people Honda is trying to target with this smaller, two seat car.

Although the Honda CR-Z Hybrid Type-R is still under development, many people anticipate to see a more powerful Honda CR-Z to hit the market sometime in 2012, once Honda analyzes consumer reactions and feedback about Honda CR-Z Hybrid, scheduled to hit Honda dealerships in late 2010.
