Eric's 1997 Pontiac Firebird Formula Trans Am
When Eric bought his '97 Formula a few years ago, his intention was to just have a solid driver for his daily commute. It already had plenty of power for the freeway onramps, and the automatic tranny made it easy to chug a mug full of coffee before the start of his day. Well, as often happens with the daily grind, the drive got a bit boring after a while, so he decided to make some upgrades.
Things started out simply enough - a fresh Sony head unit, an amp, and a 12-inch sub brought some joy back to sitting in traffic, but it wasn't long before Eric got carried away! He decided to boost his Trans Am, but he wanted to do things right and had a new factory replacement 350 engine put in first. After that, he was all clear to install an 8-PSI ProCharger twin-intercooled supercharger kit, which bumped up the power from 285HP to about 420HP! That'll certainly wake you up in the morning! With a fresh kick in the pants, the car now also needed some help in the handling department, so Eric added a complete Hotchkis TVS suspension system to keep the car planted when his foot is to the floor.
