» WHY TO BUY?
Turbocharged vehicles inherently generate a tremendous amount of heat in the engine bay. If you drive your vehicle hard, chances are your turbo charger will reach glowing red temperatures. While improved intercoolers and radiators help to some degree, it is extremely important that your vehicle is allowed to cool down properly before shutting off the motor. You can do this manually by waiting in your car for several minutes with the motor running, but this is extremely inconvenient. Thankfully RX7 turbo timers allow you to let your ride cool down with the engine running, and you don't have to be around to keep track of time and shut it off. Your RX7 turbo timer is a lot like a run of the mill kitchen timer. It hooks into your ignition to keep your car running for however much time you select on the timer. So you can take out your keys and walk away, and your car will automatically shut off a few minutes later at the predetermined time. This gives your turbo and other engine components a chance to cool down and can prevent damage including warped engine components, seized bearings and complete engine failure. The nice thing about RX7 turbo timers is that the cool down time is adjustable, so if you make a low speed run to the grocery store you can shut the car down immediately, but if you go for a high speed track run, you can dial in 4 minutes to make sure the engine gets adequate cooling. This simple device is a must have for turbo owners.
