Your Liberty turbo timer is a lot like a run of the mill kitchen timer. It hooks into your ignition to keep your car running for however much time you select on the timer. So you can take out your keys and walk away, and your car will automatically shut off a few minutes later at the predetermined time. This gives your turbo and other engine components a chance to cool down and can prevent damage including warped engine components, seized bearings and complete engine failure. The nice thing about Liberty turbo timers is that the cool down time is adjustable, so if you make a low speed run to the grocery store you can shut the car down immediately, but if you go for a high speed track run, you can dial in 4 minutes to make sure the engine gets adequate cooling. This simple device is a must have for turbo owners.
