The ring and pinion are the gears inside of your axle that take power from the engine and deliver it to the wheels. These gears require precise setup and adjustment in order to work properly. Over the years your ring and pinion may wear down and eventually fail rendering your ride useless. It is also possible that you might want to change your gear ratio for better performance on the track or on the trail. In either case you will need to get yourself a ring and pinion kit.
