Smittybilt has one of the longest histories of any aftermarket off-road manufacturer, dating back to its origins as Rock-ett Products in 1956. It should come as no great surprise, then, that Smittybilt was the originator of "Nerf Bar" tubular bumpers and steps, which have become a staple of off-road enthusiasts and are to this day one of the first things people install on their 4x4 vehicles.
