PCMCIA

The Bendix ABS/ATC application software provides the capability to test and diagnose vehicles using EC-15, EC-16, EC-17 and EC-30/30T (Tractor and Trailer) Bendix systems. To address advanced capabilities provided by Bendix, the MPC uses PCMCIA cards. The card is plugged into the back of the unit, and provides additional functions unique to Bendix. The following list contains all of the features and functions available with this card.

POWER LINE CARRIER (PLC) TEST APPLICATION FOR TRAILER ABS

Effective March 2001, a Federal Government mandate required that heavy-duty trucks have an in-cab trailer ABS warning lamp. Using a new SAE standard called PLC communication, the change requires trailer ABS ECU's to communicate with the tractor ECU via the J560 power line to activate the warning lamp. NEXIQ's PLC Converter (sold separately) is also required for PLC communication. The PLC test application is easy to use and provides the ability to: ;Verify trailer ABS ECU for MID 10 and MID 11 messages.
•Toggle in-cab trailer ABS warning lamp ON/OFF to confirm operation.
•Test tractor and trailer coupled or trailer independently for MID messages.
