Frequently Asked Questions
What are push rods? Why buy them?
Push rods are small metal rods utilized in overhead valve style engines that run between the cam shaft lifters and the valve train. As the cam shaft rotates it moves lifters which in force the push rods up and down. The push rods in turn act on the rocker arms which open and close the intake and exhaust valves. Push rods are under tremendous stress and strain. And, if you have built a high performance motor, stronger valve springs, higher lift cams and increased compression all add increased burden to the push rods. High performance push rods are available to handle the compounded rigors of high-strung motors. Constructed using the most durable materials these push rods will prevent a catastrophic failure and keep your engine running strong for miles and miles.
