 Frequently Asked Questions

What is a MAP sensor? Why buy one?
MAP is an acronym that stands for Manifold Absolute Pressure. The MAP sensor detects pressure at the intake manifold and uses the information to calculate air density which in turn helps your vehicle?s ECU to determine the proper fuel metering to match the incoming airflow. So it is easy to see why this device is crucial to your vehicle?s overall performance. The MAP sensor is an alternative form of metering to the Mass Air Flow sensor (MAF), so vehicles are usually equipped with one or the other, but rarely both. If you are running forced induction or other performance modifications, your stock MAP sensor may not be appropriately calibrated to optimize performance. Fortunately we offer aftermarket MAP sensors designed to work specifically with high-performance engine applications. With these sensors you squeeze the most out of your ride and keep it running safely and reliably.
