 Frequently Asked Questions

What is a leveling lift kit? Why buy one? How does a leveling lift differ from a suspension lift, and how does either of those differ from a body lift?
There are many ways that you can lift your vehicle. The most common forms include leveling lift kits, suspension lift kits and body lift kits. Leveling lift kits are one of the most affordable forms of lift kit. These kits are not targeted toward hardcore off roaders, but rather to the everyday truck user who wants to even out the stance of their rig or gain a little extra clearance in order to fit larger rubber. Many trucks come from the factory with an uneven stance or rake. Leveling lift kits utilize helper springs or spacers in order to boost the ride height on only one end of your rig so that it rides with a level stance which normally allows for fitment of slightly larger tires. Different from leveling lift kits are suspension lift kits and body lift kits. Suspension lift kits are pricier and achieve full vehicle lift through taller springs and longer shock absorbers. Body lift kits are also quite affordable, but only gain clearance of the body and wheel wells by using spacers between the body and frame. While this allows for larger tires it does not gain much in the way of actual ground clearance.
