What is a drive shaft? Why buy one?
Drive shafts are the metal tubes that connect your transmission to the rear axle allowing power from your engine to reach your tires. Drive shafts have universal joints or CV joints on the ends that are prone to fatigue and wear from use and abuse. The shafts themselves are also extremely susceptible to dents which can throw them out of balance and cause severe vibrations and other more serious issues in the drivetrain. Replacement drive shafts are an easy way to get rid of drivetrain vibrations and keep your ride running smoothly down the road. High-performance drive shafts are also available boasting enhanced strength, stouter joints and lighter weight designs to handle increased horsepower and to reduce rotational mass. If you are running a high-torque engine, an upgraded driveshaft is an absolute must.
