This model of SUV is one of the most popular for drivers of all kinds - from commuters to soccer moms to off-roaders, and everyone in between! The Explorer is even a very popular SUV model to modify because it already has a fairly powerful motor from the factory. With a few simple tweaks to the Ford Explorer intake system, you can dominate the streets while improving gas mileage. In our easy to use online Ford Explorer intake catalog, you will find parts like air intakes, cold air intakes, intake manifolds, air filters, air breathers, air cleaners, mass air flow sensors, heat shields, and intake accessories.

Comparison: Cold Air Intakes versus Short Ram Intakes

We show samples of each type of intake, and we explain the differences in the benefits that each provide. Check out the video to learn more!
For California Residents: CARB Stickers on Intakes
Do you live in California? If so, then if you want to modify the performance of your vehicle you have to be compliant with CARB (California Air Resources Board). If you're buying an intake, make sure you buy an intake with a CARB sticker. This video explains in more detail what exactly a CARB sticker is, and how to know for sure which intakes will come with them.
Mass Air Flow Sensors on Andy's Auto Sport TV!

Installing an Explorer intake is one of the easiest bolt-on performance modifications you can make, and can be done with simple hand tools. While not all Explorer intakes provide exceptional power gains, they do all tend to produce an aggressive "whoosh" sound when the accelerator is depressed, which is cool enough in its own right for many people. If you are building a show vehicle, any shiny or powder-coated Explorer intake should suffice, but if you really want performance gains, consider spending a bit more for a well-known, brand name Explorer cold air intake that has some research and engineering behind it.
We offer various Explorer intakes, but they're not all the same. Very often the differences between Explorer intakes can be substantial, which is why the cost can vary so much. One company's Explorer intake could be designed to merely fit within a specified location in the engine bay and look pretty, while another company might take the time and expense to manufacture a tuned Explorer cold air intake that truly improves performance and is dyno-proven to produce results. So, what you're really paying for is advanced engineering and quality components.
