What is a shaved door kit? Why buy one?
Shaved door kits give your truck an ultra-clean look. Installing the kit allows you to open your truck door with a remote, which thereby allows you 'shave' your door handles on the outside of your truck door (in other words, take off the door handles, and do body work to fill it in so that it's smooth like the rest of the door). At the heart of any shaved door handle system is the solenoid, which is the part of the kit that exerts the pressure to open your door. You want to make sure to buy a kit that has a solenoid strong enough to open your door. The bigger the truck, the heavier the door, the stronger the solenoid you'll need.
