What exactly is a running board, and what other different types of sidesteps are available?
There are an enormous variety of sidesteps of available. In general, they can be broken down into three main categories: nerf bars, running boards, and what we call 'truck steps'. Running boards are flat step panels that run directly alongside the body of the truck, and there is huge variety of running boards available on the market. They are available in fiberglass, plastic, or metal, and with or without lights. Nerf bars are tubular step bars that extend away from the body of the truck to serve as a step. There are an enormous variety of styles and finishes available for nerf bars. "Truck steps', as we call them, are individual single steps that do not extend along the length of your truck's rocker panel. The options are seemingly endless with side steps, and really your choice just comes down to a matter of taste for how you want your truck to look.
