About this Manufacturer:
While it's true that there are a lot of wiring harness kits and accessories available in the market, there aren't many, if any, that are as easy to use as Painless Performance. We've actually purchased wiring kits that were less expensive than Painless, hoping to save a few bucks, but after purchasing all of the plugs and connectors needed for the installation, we really didn't save much money. In fact, we probably spent more money on gas chasing down the parts that would have been included with a Painless kit than we would have spent just by going with Painless in the first place! So whether you're wiring up a fresh hot rod build, or swapping in a late-model engine into your classic truck, Painless Performance will keep your ride on the road.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is an ignition module? Why buy one?
According to About.com, "An ignition module is the electronic control for the ignition system. The module receives a signal from a magnetic pickup or sensor in the distributor. The module uses this signal to open and close the ground circuit to the ignition coil to fire the spark plugs. The ignition module itself may be located inside the distributor, on the distributor housing, or in the engine compartment. Aftermarket performance ignition modules also control timing advance and retard, which can have an impact on your car's performance. Two more great features in some modules are the rev limits! There are two rev limiters on your car: one for high end over-rev protection and another you can activate off a clutch or transbrake to set a launch limit. This ability to adjust the rev limits will help your car blast off the starting line.
