For those who wish to create their own custom Tanabe exhaust system, the universal TUNER MEDALION is now offered. Featuring inlet sizes ranging from 60-80mm, Tuner Medalion is perfect for any custom NA or Turbo exhaust application.
Ideal for fabrication of a full catback system, simple axle-back exhaust systems, or for vehicles that do not readily have a catback exhaust system available for them. Tuner Medalion is availabing is RACING or HYPER trim. Tuner Medalion Racing is a rebuildable unit that comes with a removable inner silencer.

Advantex is a higly advanced muffler packing material that greatly excels over the other packing material types such as loose packed fiberglass mats and composite cube types. Advantex internal packing material allows the muffler to reduce sound more, with less material, while maintaining extremely high flow characteristics.

The higheset grade SUS304 stainless is used on all systems for maximum durability, as well as lightweightedness. Our experience in developing SUS304 systems has allowed us to reach a high level of craftsmanship in this field. The durable construction prevents and protects the muffler from premature failure due to heat/stress.

What is a muffler? Are there different types of mufflers?
According to our resident expert Deryl Atanasu, Mufflers are positioned by the manufacturer where there is space on the car. All mufflers tend to be placed behind the rear axle, as this allows a lower floor-pan in the passenger compartment. Vehicles with single exaust generally have the muffler placed in a direct line with the tailpipe and just before the exaust tip. Some high-performance vehicles have a dual exaust (i.e. corvettes), where both left and right sides have a muffler in a direct line with the tailpipe and just before the exaust tip. Other vehicles (i.e. camaro, firebird) have a single exaust pipe going back just past the rear axle. It then enters a muffler that is mounted in a side to side position. From there two tailpipes exit the muffler and extend to the rear or out the side of the vehicle behind the rear axle.
